Why Shopify?
The platform we bet on — because it lets brands sell, not babysit servers.
Vyom Co. builds exclusively on Shopify and Shopify Plus. Founded in India, serving brands globally with teams in the USA and Australia. This page explains why we chose that focus — and when another stack might still make sense for your situation.
Talk to our teamThe AI-First Shopify Plus Agency — and why the platform matters.
We are not platform-agnostic consultants. We chose Shopify because it balances speed to market, total cost of ownership, and room to grow — from first product launch to multi-market Shopify Plus. That depth lets us ship faster and advise honestly.
Generalist agencies split attention across Magento, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce. Each handles URLs, checkout, and integrations differently. We would rather know one platform extremely well than spread thin across four.
Six reasons brands choose Shopify
- Launch fast, scale without replatforming. Shopify handles hosting, security, and updates — so you focus on product and growth. The same platform supports your first sale and international expansion on Shopify Plus.
- Checkout built to convert. Shop Pay and Shopify Payments reduce friction at the moment that matters. Plus merchants can extend checkout for upsells, loyalty, and brand experience without hacking together plugins.
- App ecosystem that covers the gaps. Subscriptions, reviews, loyalty, ERP, support — thousands of vetted apps integrate with native Shopify data. You extend the stack without maintaining custom infrastructure.
- SEO and AI-ready foundations. Clean URLs, sitemaps, mobile themes, and structured data out of the box. A solid baseline for organic search and AI-assisted discovery when you invest in content and technical SEO.
- International selling with Shopify Markets. Local currencies, pricing rules, and market-specific content from one admin — or expansion stores on Plus for fully separate storefronts per region.
- AI tools in the admin. Shopify Magic and Sidekick speed up product copy, imagery, and day-to-day operations — practical automation for lean teams, not gimmicks.
When Shopify might not be the fit
Heavily regulated industries with compliance flows Shopify cannot support, tiny catalogues with no growth ambition where WordPress hosting is enough, or a recent Magento investment with complex ERP ties that migration cannot yet justify — those are the exceptions. For most ecommerce brands, the question is when to move to Shopify, not whether.
If you are evaluating a move, book a consultation — we will tell you honestly if Shopify is the right next step or if timing should wait.
FAQs
Why Shopify
Platform choice, Plus, migrations, and SEO — common questions answered.
For most DTC and retail brands selling online, yes. Shopify suits founders launching their first store, growing brands on standard plans, and high-volume merchants on Shopify Plus. It is a weaker fit only when you need deeply bespoke server-side logic outside what Shopify Functions and headless Hydrogen can support — a small minority of use cases.
Shopify is fully hosted — no server maintenance, security patches, or DevOps team. WooCommerce and Magento offer more raw flexibility but higher total cost of ownership and slower time to market. For brands that want to sell, not run infrastructure, Shopify is usually the better trade-off.
When volume, international complexity, B2B wholesale, checkout customisation, or automation outgrow standard plans. Plus adds checkout extensibility, Shopify Flow, expansion stores, and dedicated support. See our Shopify Plus agency page and benefits of Shopify Plus article for detail.
Yes — brands move from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom builds regularly. Data, redirects, and SEO preservation need planning before launch. Vyom Co. handles Shopify migrations and SEO migrations as part of the same team that will grow the store afterward.
Shopify provides strong technical defaults; ranking still depends on catalogue structure, content, and authority. Platform specialists avoid recommendations that break on Liquid themes or Markets. See our Shopify SEO agency for how we approach it.
Plans range from entry-level monthly subscriptions to Shopify Plus for enterprise. Platform fees are only part of the picture — theme, apps, agency work, and payment processing add up differently per brand. We help scope total cost during discovery, not just the Shopify subscription line item.
